Like staying in an art gallery
From the moment we walked into the hotel, we felt like we had stumbled upon something special. With vibrant art pieces scattered throughout the hotel that spark curiosity, to the grand projected wall art in the lobby. It’s clear that the hotel embraces its artsy vibe, but the atmosphere remains welcoming and laid-back, with friendly and helpful staff. On the basement -2 level, they have additional artworks in the gallery. Unfortunately during our stay, the area was booked for a private function so we weren’t able to view it.
The rooms are spacious and cozy, with modern amenities that made our stay super comfortable. Room levels are accessed via the hi-tech room access cards and funky lifts. The beds were generous in size and firm enough to ensure a great night’s sleep – a must when you’re running around London all day! We stayed in a family room with plenty of space for everyone to spread out, and the bathrooms were sleek, with fantastic rainfall showers. Cara thoroughly enjoyed setting the mood with the ambient neon strip light in the shower. The only downside was the conditioner bottles provided were empty, but didn’t really impact me and my grey hairs.
One of the best things about the art’otel London, Hoxton is its location. We were just a short walk from Hoxton Square, which is packed with cool cafes and restaurants. We could also easily hop on a bus or tube to head to the bigger attractions like the Tower of London or the British Museum. For our stay, we jumped on a bus outside the hotel to head to Tottenham Court Road for dinner. It’s also conveniently located opposite a local Sainsbury’s in case you forget your toothpaste or need a snack.
Zen amenities
Unlike some London hotels, access to the gym, pool and spa facilities were included. Beware, there are set family times for kids to access it (9am – 11am and 4pm – 6pm each day). The pool seating area is small with only a few loungers available. Luckily, other guests were kind to consolidate their towels to allow us to borrow a chair. It didn’t matter though as Cara and I spent most of the time in the pool, which was a little cold on entry but fine after the initial adjustment. There’s also a sauna and steam room, with treatments available at extra cost.
Breakfast inc.
Surprisingly breakfast was included with the family room. Cara chose the bacon toastie and I went for the berry pancakes. Both were decent enough and came with a hot beverage, juice, fruit and a choice of pastry.
All in all, the art’otel London, Hoxton offers a fun, stylish place to stay. It makes sure everyone in the family feels relaxed and comfortable. Whether you’re in town for a few days or longer, this hotel is a fantastic choice for families looking to mix culture, convenience, and comfort.

Value: 4 out of 5 – London prices unfortunately, so not as cheap as the opposite Holiday Inn, but you get a better quality stay.
Overall: 4.5 out of 5 – Top marks for location, artwork, service and spacious room.
