Voyage Sorgun ABC Dad garden

After a few trips to Zafiro Hotels, Majorca, we decided to try something different this summer holidays and headed to the Anatolia’s southwest coast in Turkiye. We wanted sun, sea and great food. After a thorough online search and sifting through reviews, we opted for Voyage Sorgun – a resort nestled between pine forests and the turquoise coast of Side. It’s one of those places where you can do everything or absolutely nothing (which I mostly did), and still feel like you’ve had a proper holiday.

Date Visited: 4th to 11th July 2025

Location: Voyage Sorgun, Side, Antalya, Turkiye

Getting There: As tempting as it was to book through Jet2 as nothing beats them, we went with EasyJet Holidays and flew from London Gatwick to Antalya, with private transfers included (approximately 60-90 minutes transfer by car depending on traffic). The package made it easy (pun intended), with the transfer waiting for us outside the terminal.

Cost: For 3 adults and 1 child, the packaged all-inclusive holiday was approximately £5,700, booked seven months ahead of time. No additional costs unless you’re venturing outside the resort or opting for the a-la-carte restaurants.

Food: All-Inclusive, But Make It Fancy

If you’ve ever rolled your eyes at the phrase “all-inclusive”, then Voyage Sorgun might change your mind. The main restaurant, Degusto, like most other resorts, had themed nights (Turkish, Mediterranean, Asian) and a dedicated kids’ buffet. However, what sets it apart if the quality and service. Everything was clean, filled up and the desserts were plentiful. The variety of pastries and baklava was astounding. If the main restaurant doesn’t fill you up, then there’s the Cuisine 24 ‘cafe’, where they serve food 24/7 off different menus depending on the time. And for the sweet tooth, there’s an entire counter of desserts and a chocolatier in the main building, and a fruit and ice-cream stand near the main pool. And if you’re super chilled and want to eat by the pool or beach, there’s food you can order via the app or pop by the gozleme stand for a fresh snack.

For a break from the buffet, Cara wanted to try the steak one evening, so we booked the Carino Steakhouse via the app, with kids eating free! Adults pay a €25 supplement which although sounds expensive since it’s all-inclusive, is definitely a bargain based on the amount of sides you receive, and the size of the steak! Definitely recommend if you’re missing a proper steak or meat.

In terms of drinks, I’m not a big alcoholic drinker – I know, a waste on all-inclusive – so I only sampled a few of the cocktails. They were refreshing and tasty and used proper alcohol, no knock-offs or cheaper labels. The beer and soft-drinks are are proper labels and brands as well. Compared to other all-inclusives we’ve stayed at, this was definitely the best in terms of food and beverages.

Activities: From Waterslides to Historical Walks

Voyage Sorgun is built for families. We only left the resort once to visit Side town to check out the ruins and pick up some souvenirs. It’s a short 10-minute, €10 each way, taxi ride to Side old town. There, you can stroll through the ancient town and ruins, walking slowly down to the marina. There’s a main road full of shops with souvenirs, knock-off clothes, and restaurants. Just be careful of pushy vendors, but the souvenir shops we visited were perfectly fine and affordable.

The resort itself offers eight pools, including a kids’ splash zone, adult-only pool, and an aquapark with six slides. Our favourite was the ‘activity pool’. It was deep, but not too deep, and allowed Cara to practice her flips and handstands in the water. It’s also the pool where all the water-based activities like fitness and water polo is held.

If you prefer the sand and beach, it’s Blue Flag certified with two piers—one for families, one for adults with plenty of loungers. We would occasionally pop down to the beach to switch it up from the pool, but be warned it is quite pebbly and rocky as you enter the water.

For the smaller kids, there’s a mini funfair at the front of the resort with free rides every evening. And for the older kids, there’s a mini gaming area and four-lane bowling alley and cinema, opened from 16:00 each day. Given the heat, I was surprised people volunteered to play other sports, like tennis, beach volleyball. There’s also dart, table tennis and an area for yoga and dance. If you’re looking to get out of the sun, there’s a spa section in the main building which includes a Turkish hammam and massage, indoor pool and gym.

Evenings were filled with live music, dance shows, and a mini disco. We caught most performances, some were a bit odd (looking at you, Aladdin show!). But highly recommend any concerts they have, it’s a full blown production and great entertainment.

Rooms: 2-bedroom interconnecting garden view

Tucked away among the pine trees, our 2-bed interconnecting garden room was a peaceful retreat. It had just the right amount of space for a family of four (granddad included). Two separate bedrooms—one with a double bed, the other with twins—meant there was plenty of space. The rooms were modern (although the TVs could use an upgrade) and spotless. Both rooms opened onto a private terrace shaded by greenery. Daily turndown service, a well-stocked minibar, and blackout curtains made it easy to unwind after busy days. Bonus points for the walk-in shower and fluffy robes and slippers – small touches that made it feel more boutique than bungalow. Just note, there’s no separate door outside the shower so there’s limited area to get ready if you’re not family.

Top Tips for Voyage Sorgun:

Voyage Sorgun was a hit and we were sad as soon as we left the resort. Need to start planning for the next summer! The staff were genuinely warm, the food exceeded expectations, and the setting – pine trees meeting the sea – was postcard perfect. If you’re after a stress-free, sun-soaked family holiday with just the right amount of luxury, this one’s worth bookmarking.

  1. Book à la carte restaurants via the app or WhatsApp assistant early.
  2. The WhatsApp assistant is a game-changer – don’t be shy to use it. Any questions you have, they’re available to help you!
  3. If you need them, bring some water shoes for the beach as it’s a bit pebbly.
  4. In addition to sunscreen, pack some insect repellent for the evening entertainment, we got bit a few times especially if sitting at the back of the open theatre.
  5. Expected, but the store at the resort is very pricey so try limit purchases there if you can. We ran out of sunscreen by day 5 and had to purchase another bottle at a cost of €34!
